Official statment The General Command of Libyan Arab Armed Forces in reply to the ICC warrent against one of our members. As we carefully observe the warrent issued by the international Criminal Court against Major. Mahmoud Mustafa Al-Werfali and accusing him of war crimes based on photos and videos posted on social media showing the defendent assasinating terrorist group members. That said , we thank the ICC on its efforts in finding stability , puplic secuirity and protecting people from the scourge of war and conflicts. We here by inform you that the defendent Major. Mahmoud Mustafa Al-Werfali has been arrested and investigated by the Military prosecuter on those charges since the 02/08/2017 as per General commander of Libyan Arab Armed Forces Marshal Hiftar's order No. 31/1957. General command of Libyan Arab Armed Forces emphasizes on its respect of International conventions , International Human Law and to the teachings of Islamic Sharia. General commander has stated in many occasions and official statments to members of Libyan Arab Armed Forces to respect these rules and orders which may include and not limited to banning self revenge , respecting freedoms and handing over the terrorists to the competent authorities. That Said , General command of Libyan Arab Armed Forces Disown these actions and who ever commits them , These action only represents the committers which will be Subject to law and deterrent penalties. By this statment , ICC should rest assure that Investigation procedures ensuring justice is ongoing under Libyan Military Law and defendent has been suspended and detained since the General commander of Libyan Arab Armed Forces Marshal Hiftar's order No. 31/1957 issued 02/08/2017 and we are ready to cooperate with ICC by sharing the trial proceedings.
